We source our fiber from an amazing social enterprise called Pichinku. Tawa Merino Silk is produced with natural yarn, botanically dyed in small batches by the skilled hands of women artisans in Cusco, Peru.

Our fibers are sourced exclusively from cruelty free facilities and dyed using botanical materials that are locally sourced in sustainable quantities. Artisan production practices energy conservation, natural resource conservation, solid waste disposal and wastewater remediation always and whenever possible. 

In combination with locally sourced, botanical dyes and made in small batches by women’s hands, our yarn is unique and unlike any other on the market. 

Pichinku (pee-cheen-koo, meaning “little bird” in the native Quechua language) yarn is sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially conscious. Each unique skein is part of the ancient heritage of the Andes mountains, and supports the health of its people and breathtaking landscapes.

Please note: Due to the popularity of Ganxxet products, it can sell out quickly. Color shades may vary from one batch to another because of the natural dyes characteristics, so we recommend you to order a bit extra for specific projects.

Natural dyes fade beautifully with time and may run a bit when washed but will retain their vibrancy with proper care. We recommend hand washing in cold water with a drop of pH neutral detergent, avoiding agitation, laying flat to dry.

Even though we do our very best to display our colors as accurately as possible keep in mind the screen color may differ slightly from the product you will get at home.
